BITSians’ Day
BITSians’ Day is a celebration of the shared identity, memories, and spirit that unite BITSians across generations and geographies. Observed annually on the first Friday of August, the occasion brings together students, faculty, staff, and alumni to celebrate the values and experiences that define the BITS community.
On campus, the event offers a unique opportunity for members of the institute to come together beyond classrooms and workplaces, fostering a sense of belonging and connection. One of the highlights of the celebration is the official group photograph with the Director, faculty and student body bringing together the institute community in a single frame and symbolizing the collective spirit of BITS. Other than the official photo, alumni and students gather to bond over group activities, jamming sessions and casual chats comparing campus life over different epochs. These moments serve as a reminder that while BITSians may pursue diverse paths across the world, they remain connected by a common set of experiences, values, and aspirations.
More than just a day of photographs and celebration, BITSians’ Day is an affirmation of the enduring BITSian bond: a bond built on friendship, collaboration, innovation, and a lifelong connection to the institute and its community.
